## About LocaLore

LocaLore (https://localore.vercel.app) is a living bestiary and interactive world map of folklore creatures, yokai, spirits, demons, and local legends. It is a community-driven archive where users submit creature entries, file sighting reports, and collectively build a global record of cryptids, mythological entities, and oral tradition.

The project is not fictional — it treats folklore as cultural memory and presents entries as documented accounts from tradition and community witness.

## What the site contains

- **Creature library**: Detailed profiles of folklore creatures from around the world — origin stories, abilities, danger ratings, survival tips, regional context, and user-submitted witness accounts
- **Interactive world map**: Geolocated creature pins across a global map showing where each entity originates or has been sighted
- **User accounts and XP system**: Community members earn experience (XP) and Anima currency by submitting creatures, filing sightings, and engaging with entries
- **Creature cards**: Collectible trading cards of archive entries with rarity tiers (whisper, remnant, bound, gilded, awakened, ephemeral, void-touched)
- **Marketplace and auction house**: Community trading of creature cards using Anima currency
- **Grimoire**: A book-style personal journal of bookmarked creatures
